Privacy Policy

Setout builds consumer mobile apps and the internal tools we use to publish and promote them. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, who processes it for us, and how to ask us to delete it. It covers this website and our company operations. Each of our apps also states, in its own store listing and in-app policy, exactly what that app collects.

What we collect

• Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your address, your message, and our reply so we can answer you and keep a record of the request.
• Account data in our apps. Where an app has accounts, that typically means an email address, a display name, the sign-in method used, and an internal account identifier.
• Content you create in our apps. Stored on your device and, where an app offers sync, on our servers so it is available on your other devices. It is tied to your account and is not readable by other users.
• Purchase state. Whether a subscription or purchase is active and when it renews. Payments are taken by Apple or Google; we never receive card numbers or billing addresses.
• Diagnostics and usage data. Crash reports and basic feature usage, with device model, operating system version, and app version, so we can fix problems and decide what to build.
• Server logs. Our hosting providers record request logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and contains no tracking scripts.

How we use it

To run and support our apps, to authenticate you, to sync and back up your content, to process purchases, to fix crashes and improve the products, to send you service email such as password resets, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use third-party advertising networks.

Third-party services

We rely on service providers who process data on our instructions and under their own data-processing terms. They fall into these categories:

• Cloud hosting, databases, and file storage.
• Authentication and push notification delivery.
• Crash reporting and product analytics.
• App distribution and billing, namely Apple and Google.
• Email and business productivity tools.
• Social and video platforms where we publish marketing content. When we connect one of our accounts to a platform such as TikTok, YouTube, or Google, we use that access only to publish and manage our own content and to read the resulting performance statistics. We do not access other people's private data through those connections, and we do not use platform data for advertising or sell it.

Our publishing tool uses YouTube API Services, and by using it we agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data collected through those services is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Through this connection we store OAuth tokens for our own channels and the titles, descriptions, and performance statistics of our own uploads — no other users' data. Access can be revoked at any time from the Google security settings page, and stored data is deleted on request to hello@setout.ai within 30 days.

These providers may store and process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers out of the UK, EEA, or Switzerland rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Account data and your content for as long as your account exists. Support email for up to two years. Crash reports for up to 90 days and usage data for up to 12 months. Purchase records for as long as tax law requires. Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Where an app offers in-app account deletion, that is the fastest route. Otherwise email hello@setout.ai from the address on the account and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription; cancel that in the App Store or Google Play.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest by our providers. Access to production data is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you we will notify you as the law requires.

Children

Our products are not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. For material changes we will give notice before they take effect.
