Podm: Privacy Policy
Last updated 9 October 2026.
This policy covers the iPhone app Podm: Bracket Maker, published by Setout Labs LLC ("we"). It explains what stays on your iPhone, what leaves it, and how to delete your data. Our company-wide privacy policy covers this website and our other products.
The short version
- Podm: Bracket Maker is a free iPhone app with no account, no purchases and no advertising. Your brackets stay on your iPhone. The app uses two outside services: Sentry for crash reports and Mixpanel for basic usage analytics.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, show ads, or sell your data.
What stays on your iPhone
Bracket names, entrant names and seeds, results and scores, the last result change you can undo, and an unfinished New bracket draft are stored in a database in the app's own storage. We have no server for them and never receive them. The app also keeps a small flag noting that it has been opened before.
The app asks for no permissions: no camera, microphone, photos, location, contacts or notifications.
Usage analytics (Mixpanel)
Mixpanel receives a few events tied to a random identifier the Mixpanel library creates for this installation:
- that the app was opened, and whether it was the first open;
- which screen you opened (home, new bracket, bracket);
- that a bracket was created, with its number of entrants;
- that a final result was recorded;
- that you tapped Share bracket.
Each event also carries the app version and build, and the Mixpanel library adds device and operating system details such as model and iOS version. Events never include bracket names, entrant names, scores, the shared image or where you send it. The app does not link events to a name, email or account and does not use Mixpanel's automatic event collection.
Crash reports (Sentry)
If the app crashes or hits an error, Sentry receives a report with the error type, the code location (stack trace), the app version and build, and device, operating system and runtime details. The app strips error message text and in-app activity trails from the errors it reports itself before they are sent, does not ask Sentry to attach personal information, and does not use Sentry for performance tracing or session tracking.
Sharing
When you tap Share bracket, the app draws the whole bracket, including names, results, any champion and a “Made with Podm” line, into an image in its temporary files and opens the iOS share sheet. Where it goes is your choice, and the app or person you send it to handles that copy under their own terms.
What leaves your iPhone
Our app and service providers collect the following data for the stated purposes. None of it is used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Diagnostics → Crash Data: App Functionality; not linked to you.
- Diagnostics → Other Diagnostic Data: App Functionality; not linked to you.
- Identifiers → Device ID: Analytics, App Functionality; not linked to you.
- Usage Data → Product Interaction: Analytics; not linked to you.
We use two service providers. They process data only on our behalf, and we require each to give your data the same or equivalent protection as this Privacy Policy.
- Mixpanel (usage analytics). Receives the usage events described under Usage analytics (Mixpanel) above. Mixpanel uses the network address of each request to estimate a city, region and country.
- Sentry (crash reports). Receives the crash and error reports described under Crash reports (Sentry) above.
What we do not do
Podm does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, does not use the advertising identifier, and shows no ads. Its privacy manifest declares no tracking. We do not sell or rent your data.
Deleting your data
Brackets stay until you remove the app; there is no in-app delete and nothing expires on a schedule. Removing the app deletes its brackets, draft and settings. Apple's device backups and transfers may include the app's files, and copies you shared stay where you sent them. Podm cannot restore lost brackets.
Analytics events and crash reports are kept by Mixpanel and Sentry under the retention settings of our accounts with them. They are tied to a random installation identifier, not to you by name.
For data held by our service providers, email us at support@setout.ai and we will respond within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to its use, and to complain to your data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If we learn that a child under 13 (or the minimum age where they live) has given us personal data, we will delete it. Parents or guardians who believe this has happened should email us.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above. For material changes we will give notice before they take effect.
