Snap4: Privacy Policy

This policy covers the iPhone app Snap4: Photo Booth, published by Setout Labs LLC ("we"). It explains what stays on your iPhone, what leaves it, and how to delete your data. Our company-wide privacy policy covers this website and our other products.

The short version

  • Snap4: Photo Booth is a free iPhone app with no account, no purchases and no advertising.
  • We collect nothing. The app has no server, no sign-in and no third-party SDK — no analytics, no advertising and no crash-reporting service. It makes no network requests. Photos are captured and the strip is rendered on your iPhone, so nothing is uploaded to us. Its privacy manifest declares no tracking.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites, show ads, or sell your data.

What stays on your iPhone

Each strip is kept on your iPhone in the app's own storage: the four source photos as JPEG files, plus the rendered strip image, its capture date and your color and date choices. The strip's identifier is a random value for that strip, not a device or tracking identifier. Your remembered Show date choice and the dates the app last asked you for a rating are stored in iOS user defaults. Taking another strip does not replace earlier ones, and nothing expires on a schedule.

When you save or share, the app writes a temporary export image to its cache, which iOS reclaims as needed. A strip saved to Photos is then managed by Photos under your own iCloud and backup settings, and Apple's device backups and transfers may include the app's local files. If you share a strip, the app or person you send it to handles that copy under their own terms.

Permissions

  • Camera. Needed for the live preview and the four timed front-camera photos.
  • Photos (add only). Requested when you tap Save to Photos, so the finished strip can be written to your library. Add-only access cannot read or browse your existing photos.

The app configures no microphone input and requests no microphone, location or contacts access.

What leaves your iPhone

We do not collect data from this app.

What we do not do

We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not show ads or use advertising networks. We do not sell or rent your data.

Deleting your data

Tap the trash button on an open strip, or touch and hold a strip in History and choose Delete, then confirm. That removes the strip, its four source photos and its record from the app. Copies you already saved to Photos or shared stay where they are. Removing the app deletes all of its local strips and preferences.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to its use, and to complain to your data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If we learn that a child under 13 (or the minimum age where they live) has given us personal data, we will delete it. Parents or guardians who believe this has happened should email us.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above. For material changes we will give notice before they take effect.
