Common questions
Which lights work with Dial?
Bluetooth LED lights whose Bluetooth name starts with Triones-, Triones:, QHM-, LEDBLE-, ELK-, ELK~, XSL-, LED LIGHT STRIP, MELK-, Dream~ or KS03~, or is exactly BJ_LED, BJ_LED_M, BJ_LED_HC or BJ_LED_MHC. To check yours, plug it in and tap Add a light: a supported light shows up in the list. Some lights with similar names use a locked protocol and won't connect. Wi-Fi lights, lights run through a smart-home hub and lights with only an infrared remote don't work. If yours isn't listed, tap My light isn't listed to send us its Bluetooth details.
My light doesn't show up in Add a light.
Check that Bluetooth is on and that Dial is allowed to use it (Settings › Dial › Bluetooth). Make sure the light is plugged in and powered on, and bring your iPhone close to it. Close any other LED app, and turn off Bluetooth on other phones that control the light: a light usually accepts one connection at a time and stays hidden while another app holds it. Then tap Search again.
Why does my light disconnect?
Dial connects while it's open and disconnects when you leave the app. When you open it again, it reconnects to the light you used last. If the connection drops while you're in the app, move closer to the light and make sure no other app or phone has connected to it. Dial talks to one light at a time.
My schedule didn't run.
Schedules are saved on the light and run on the light's own clock, which Dial sets from your iPhone each time it connects. If the light was unplugged or lost power, open Dial and connect to it once so it gets the time again. The light needs to stay plugged in for a schedule to run. Check the schedule's time and days in the Timers tab.
Music sync doesn't react to the music.
Music sync listens through your iPhone's microphone, so allow it in Settings › Dial › Microphone. Open the Music tab with your light connected and tap Start; it listens only while that screen is open. Play the music out loud near your iPhone, turn the volume up, or move Sensitivity toward Quiet room. Pulse follows the volume; Beat and Bass need a clear beat or low notes.
How do I delete my data?
To delete a saved light, open it, tap the ⋯ menu and choose Remove light. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your iPhone. To ask us to delete crash reports, light reports or usage statistics, email us at the address above.
